Bio

Emmanuel holds a design engineering degree in computer science option networks telecommunications and systems. In 2013, along with three of his classmates, he launched Openstreetmap Cote d’Ivoire(OSMCI) to map all regions of Côte d’Ivoire in an effort to save lives and promote free and open technologies.

In 2016 OSMCI received the national award for excellence from the 2nd Digital Youth Initiative of Côte d’Ivoire. Three years later, as a Volontaire International de la Francophonie (VIF), he helped support the Openstreetmap collaborative and free mapping project in French-speaking countries of West Africa.

Emmanuel through Data Transport is A non-profit organization working to improve African mobility through data and technology helped implement WatriFeed, an open source software to standardize transport data in GTFS format. He has provided his expertise to organizations such as the National Democratic Institute, the World Bank, the International Organization of La Francophonie, and the Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation, US. State Department-Tech Camps, ICRISAT, UNESCO… Emmanuel BAMA is based in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), he is voluntarily and actively involved in many technology working groups (leader stories).
