HOT and Wikimedia Indonesia join forces
We met at the National Library of Indonesia-- partly for its space and partly for its reference materials. Unlike the English wikipedia, Wedimedia Indonesia requires two or more sources per page. Full articles require sources every sentence. The community of wiki users in Indonesia is small and so they do not have the manpower to be constantly editing and administrating all the articles. Our team met up with some administrators of Wikimedia to help them create and edit pages on the major roads in Jakarta. Why: We hope to continue this partnership and meet once a month with willing volunteers to teach them how to edit road pages and link OSM maps to the pages.
For the first few hours, we were given a run down of the DKI Jakarta road pages. Most of the roads were listed in red, meaning that their pages had not been created yet. For the ones in blue, there was minimal information and hardly any references. John explained the
The second half of the afternoon consisted of going to a road and taking pictures of the intersections, buildings and road itself. This way there would be more information available to the public about these roads. The afternoon was very informative and
