On Thursday, July 7, HOT will join the White House Mapathon to celebrate the role of open mapping in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will actively map for malaria prevention in Mozambique via HOT Task 1988, hosted by the President’s Malaria Initiative, USAID, and the Peace Corps.

HOT communities around the world are hosting mapathons in conjunction with the White House, too! Map Kibera hosted a successful mapathon on July 5. HOT, Maptime, MapGive and Youth Mappers groups in Nepal, Germany and across the United States will hold additional mapathons on July 7.
You can join us by mapping remotely! Check out the attached Mapathon Toolkit, follow the White House Mapathon livestream from 1-2pm EST at https://www.whitehouse.gov/live and trace buildings and major roads for Task 1988. Be sure to save all edits and tweet us your progress with #WHMapathon!
