This International Women’s Day, show your support by mapping
Many of HOT’s projects and partners focus on improving outcomes for women and girls in the developing world. This work is done in support of Sustainable Development Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. This International Women’s Day, you can show your support for women and girls worldwide by mapping.

Support girls and communities affected by Female Genital Mutilation by mapping for the Tanzania Development Trust. You can read more about their valuable work helping young girls at risk of FGM to find safety here and here.
Did you know that women and girls are disproportionately affected by malaria? Women, particularly pregnant women, are at greatest risk of contracting malaria. Further, once malaria affects a family, the economic burden is much greater on female family members, who face increased pressures to provide food and medicine, as well as increased care-giving responsibilities (UNDP). You can show your support by mapping and validating our Malaria Elimination projects.
- HOT Indonesia is organising a half day mapping training event on International Women's Day, 8th March, 1-5pm (GMT +7). The event will host over 20 representatives from public and private organisations, NGOs and universities, and features an opening presentation from UN Women. More information on the event here.
- Tagging in support of women and girls- exactly the same as mapping in general with one important difference: the mapper keeps in mind that many issues disproportionately affect women and girls and even a few issues are relevant to women and girls only. Learn more and join the project today.
