Rebecca is HOT’s Community Partnerships Manager. She joined the HOT staff team in December 2016, and has actively volunteered with HOT and Missing Maps since 2014.
Rebecca joined HOT from working in CSR at a global management consulting firm, where she led the setup of a digital skilling programme for job-seekers and entrepreneurs, working with a wide range of charity partners to embed the programme. As a volunteer, she also led the creation of a sustainable mapping community of 3,000 people, setting up events like this: https://youtu.be/tHr6Pf4W_gg. Prior to this, Rebecca worked setting up digital programmes as a private sector consultant.
In her role at HOT, Rebecca focuses on sustaining and growing the community to strengthen the impact HOT projects can have. This improves HOTs capabilities across longer term capacity building, local community development projects, and disaster events. She also runs the Microgrants program, supporting OpenStreetMap communities around the world to scale and build local capacity.
Rebecca holds an MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge, where she focussed on international development. Working with HOT brings her interests in geography, international development and digital together.
