Remapping Freetown's Central Business District

Six months before anyone drew a single building outline, Freetown was mapped from above. Residents used drones to map over 72 square kilometers of the city, gathering high-resolution aerial imagery. This imagery became the foundation for re-mapping the central business district. This is the story of the Freetown City Regeneration Project, and the people who carried it out: the council officials who needed better data to plan for their city, the technical partners who worked with them to create a fitting methodology for this, and the community mappers, who actualized it all.
