2026 Venezuela Earthquake Response

Disaster Response • Venezuela

On Wednesday, June 24th of 2026, two strong earthquakes hit northern Venezuela, around 160 km west of its capital, Caracas. With hundreds of casualties and injured people, HOT is currently mobilizing to obtain and share the necessary data so partners on the ground can provide support as soon as possible.

Right after the earthquakes struck, we used fAIr, our AI-assisted mapping tool, to identify gaps in geospatial data and kick off a mapping campaign so partners on the ground could estimate and prioritize their disaster response effort. We are currently also using it to estimate building density maps in Caracas and La Guaira.

Through our Portal, you will find:

  • Available satellite imagery
  • Remote mapping campaigns to improve building footprint data of the affected regions.
  • Updates on potential field mapping activities (pending)
  • Available data and digital maps: area of interest, buildings, building density, healthcare sites and more.
