AI Engineer / Egypt
Abdelrahman is an AI and Computer Vision Engineer with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), contributing since February 2026. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has over five years of experience in computer vision, delivering more than 18 production-level projects across industry and collaborative research.
He began working in GeoAI in 2023 through the World Resources Institute, where he developed object detection models to map solar panels from satellite imagery. His technical focus lies in building end-to-end AI systems that are robust, scalable, and aligned with real-world needs, particularly in humanitarian and geospatial contexts.
Outside of work, Abdelrahman enjoys swimming and diving. He is driven by a strong belief in open data and the power of well-designed AI systems to create meaningful impact.
