Gertrude Namitala (Trudy Hope) is the senior developer and founder of Trudigital Technologies Ltd an ICT and GIS company operating in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is the co-founder of OpenStreetMap Zambia and Open Data Zambia, organisations that are promoting the use and adaption of open data and open data tools among organisations in Zambia. She is also the the chairperson for AWEaP (African Women in Energy and Power) in Uganda an organisation designed to accelerate African women entrepreneurs' participation in the power and energy sector. She is among the investment advisors for Wecreate a USAID funded organisation in the energy and WASH sectors. She is a data enthusiast who contributes to OpenStreetMap, advocates for the use of open data around Africa and has supported different communities in Africa to start OSM chapters and strongly supports and promotes Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOTOSM) among the communities and different stakeholders.
