Senior Mapping Supervisor - Eastern and Southern Africa Hub / Eastern & Southern Africa / Kenya

Duncan Kebut is a Senior Project Associate at the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) ESA Hub, where he supports the coordination and delivery of projects that strengthen humanitarian response, climate resilience, and informed decision-making for governments, organizations, and communities.

With over 10 years of experience, Duncan has worked across Africa with international organizations, governments, and local partners to address complex challenges. His experience includes refugee settlement mapping, drought early warning systems, and climate-ready urban planning. He is particularly interested in approaches that connect geospatial tools with local realities and is guided by a strong belief in community-centered design, open data, and practical, sustainable solutions.

Duncan is especially interested in shaping solutions that are easy to use, responsive to local needs, and built to last. His work reflects a broader commitment to making geospatial data more accessible, inclusive, and actionable, helping institutions and communities better anticipate, respond to, and recover from challenges.
