Bio
Nisreen is a passionate GIS and remote sensing expert who finds joy in using satellite data to tell compelling environmental stories. She’s especially enthusiastic about forest monitoring, climate resilience, land cover change, and community-centered mapping. Her favorite tools include Google Earth Engine, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, QGIS, and open data platforms like MapBiomas and Hansen GFC. She also enjoys building workflows for projects focused on biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and disaster response. She actively mentors volunteers and leads impact-driven projects at Kuyua. When not mapping, she enjoys exploring new research ideas, visiting cultural sites, and planning for urban resilience in cities like Khartoum. She currently lives between Sudan and the world of geospatial pixels.
