Eastern Afghanistan Earthquake Day 2

Since the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) officially activated on the 27th October, the team has been working hard to evaluate the mapping needs in response to the Eastern Afghanistan earthquake. There are two Tasking Manager projects set up in an effort to map key affected areas.

Updates and info on HOT's Hurricane Patricia mapping from the Activation Team

HOT, en coordinación con la comunidad mexicana de OSM, ha sido activada durante los dos últimos días, atendiendo al progreso del huracán y mapeando las áreas vulnerables en su camino. Tenemos dos tareas de mapeado abiertas en el OSM Tasking Manager (tasks.hotosm.org): una tarea que cubre las áreas costeras en el camino del huracán, y una tarea tierra adentro. No anticipamos abrir tareas adicionales, pero estamos monitorizando la situación en caso de que deslaves, inundaciones, u otros peligros posteriores al huracán generen situaciones humanitarias en las que podamos contribuir.

Activation Workshop at Africa Open Data Conference

The first workshop for the HOT Activation Curriculum was held during the pre-conference events of the first Africa Open Data Conference. The conference facilitated discussion around the benefit of Open Data on the African continent including lessons learned from around the globe.
